Essential Roots
The new Essential Roots Series guitars connect to HOHNER’s historical role in roots and blues music. HOHNER teamed up with guitarists and HOHNER endorsees to develop an exceptional series of vintage-inspired guitars. The series consists of five models reminiscent of the smaller bodied guitars that contemporized the music of the 1920s and 30s. They are HOHNER’s interpretation of legendary acoustics equipped with modern features, such as NVI (Non-Variance Intonation).
The Essential Roots Series uses proven, traditional tonewood selections. The all mahogany models have a solid mahogany top and produce a warm tone with rich mids. The spruce models have a solid sitka spruce top and mahogany backs and sides for a crisper sound with singing trebles. All guitars of the series feature a micro-thin satin finish. The pick guards were left off in order to encourage the vibration of the tops. This results in exceptionally resonant guitars, producing a rich, singing tone and making the small bodies sound huge.
